Greetings
Hi all. I'm new here. I read the original novel when I was 14, and have reread it at least once every other year. I'm currently 1/3 of the way through this time due to joining a "After The Stand" roleplaying community on livejournal.

I have noticed that when I read the book, I tend to get a cold. LOL. And I'm not the only one. Not only others in my family, but people I've just met who I see reading it. I've asked "Have you gotten a cold while you read that?" And most of them say they have.

I think it's psychosomatic... or the printer sprays the pages with cold germs. LOL.

Yeah. As amatter of fact, it's just starting out. We only have three players, and a fourth in the PC development stage. We're doing "getting to know you game posts while we Work on a bigger plot. :)

That will give you all the information if you are interested.

I think it might be a little more psychosomatic. I don't think I got a cold all that often when I have read it in the past, but it's been a year since the last time I read it straight through (and since I sometimes can't recall what I did last week who knows - I might have and just can't recall lol).

I tend to read it more in fits and spurts since I too am in a Stand RPG and my nose did get a little stuffy last week while doing so. I think it was allergies though lol ;)

I usually read it in the summer. I like to read it in June and see if anyone gets sick around me. Haha. It makes for a good summer read for some reason - and not just because a lot of the action happens in summer.

I itch all over whe I read it. But I think its because of the fleas in my house jumped on the book.
